Fivos Kalamata Olives

Kalamata olives are named after the city of Kalamata in Messenia, Peloponnese, where they mostly grow, along with regions of Laconia.

Almond-shaped and with an eggplant colour, Kalamata olives, also knows as “Kalamon”, are smooth and meaty in texture, while they are harvested by hand so that their skin won’t bruise.

They are protected under the European Geographical Status scheme, which means that only olives originated from the region of Kalamata, like Fivos Kalamata Olives, can bear the “Kalamata” brand when sold in the EU.

Rich in calcium, vitamins C, A, E and K, Fivos Kalamata Olives, named after the epithet of the Greek god Apollo, Phoebus, meaning luminous in Greek, are an ideal representative of the unique Kalamata olive type.
